How to read gift-bag dimensions
A gift bag needs room for the chosen item and the way you want it presented. Compare the bag itself with your gift rather than judge fit from a staged photograph. Handles, folded edges and tissue can occupy space around the opening without being part of the usable body dimensions.
Find the width, height and depth
Look for which measurement describes the front width, body height and side gusset or depth. Sources do not always list the axes in the same order. Confirm the meaning of each number when the arrangement is unclear, and do not assume handle height is included in a body-height figure.
Check the assortment and contents
An assorted pack can contain several sizes, not one size repeated in every bag. Count bags separately from supplied tissue sheets or tags. A bottle bag shown around a bottle does not include the bottle, and decorative tissue is supplied only when the selected package says so.
Allow for the actual opening
An item with the same nominal width as a bag may not pass comfortably through the opening. Check protruding parts, presentation tissue and the intended closure without forcing the fit. We do not infer a weight rating, food-contact suitability or universal gift compatibility from a photograph or material name.
